My Statement of Faith
About the Bible:
I believe... (1) it to be the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God; (2) that both the Old and New Testaments are completely inerrant in their original writings; (3) it is the supreme and final authority for faith and life; (4) it is the only standard by which mankind can discern genuine truth.
I believe... Him to be the Creator and Sustainer of all things, who eternally exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three persons are one God, being co-equal, and having the same nature, attributes and perfection.
About the Lord Jesus Christ:
I believe... (1) His eternal existence as God; (2) His incarnation and virgin birth; (3) His death on the cross as the atonement for sin; (4) His literal, bodily resurrection from the dead; (5) His present ministry of intercession in heaven; (6) His imminent personal return to earth.
About the Holy Spirit:
I believe... (1) He convicts all men of sin; (2) He regenerates, seals, indwells and baptizes, setting apart believers to a holy life; (3) He keeps and empowers believers day by day; (4) He is the Teacher of the Word of God unto men.
I believe... (1) he was created in God's image and was therefore pure and innocent; (2) that Adam fell through the sin of disobedience and; (3) therefore all men are fallen and corrupted in body, soul and spirit; (4) is born in need of personal redemption from sin and its effects.
I believe... (1) w are saved by grace, a free gift of God apart from works; (2) salvation requires repentance over sin and rebellion against God; (3) in a personal trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sin; (4) in a total surrender to His person and His plan. I hold that all who receive the Jesus Christ of Scripture, as presented above, as Savior and Lord become children of God and that true salvation will be manifested by a life radically changed.
About the future:
I believe... in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth, also the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust - the just to their eternal place in the presence of God - the unjust to judgment and eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.
About the church:
I believe... the body of Christ consists of all those who hold a personal saving faith in the Jesus Christ of Scripture, as presented above, and exists to bring glory to Him, each member surrendering him/her self to serve as instruments of His redeeming love for mankind.
